New Jersey runs its own marketplace
Unlike most southern states, New Jersey moved to a state-based marketplace, Get Covered New Jersey, at GetCoveredNJ.gov. That means New Jersey residents don't use HealthCare.gov — you use Get Covered New Jersey to compare plans and enroll. You still get federal premium tax credits (subsidies).
How to enroll in New Jersey
You can enroll directly at GetCoveredNJ.gov, or through a licensed agent who works with Get Covered New Jersey. Using a licensed agent is free — you pay the same price either way. Open Enrollment on state marketplaces sometimes runs a bit longer than the federal window (often through late January); confirm Get Covered New Jersey's current dates.
What this means for subsidies
Even on a state marketplace, your subsidy is based on household size and income under the same federal rules. Check your subsidy to see your exact monthly cost.
